Applications for Mentored Career Development Awards Due February 6th |
|
Applications for Mentored Clinical and Translational Research Career Development Awards are available now. These research career development awards, funded under a K12 mechanism, are sponsored by a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) from the NIH and the Einstein-Montefiore Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR). K12 awards provide institutional support for mentored research career development to investigators who have recently completed professional training and who are commencing basic, translational and/or clinical research. Each award will provide support for junior faculty (Instructor or Assistant Professor) with doctoral degrees who will devote the majority of their effort to clinical or translational research and training for 2 to 3 years.

Clinical Research Training Program Applications Due March 1st |
|
This 2-year program consists of a didactic curriculum, emphasizing epidemiology, biostatistics, data analysis, grant writing, and research ethics; and a faculty mentored experience in clinical research, leading to the preparation of a thesis. Scholars successfully completing this program will earn a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods.
There are expanded course offerings for research methodologies across the translational spectrum in:
· Population & Clinical Sciences
· Patient Centered Outcomes Research
· Bench to Bedside Translational Research
CRTP scholars are drawn from all of Einstein’s medical specialties and subspecialties, including those interested in clinical investigation across the entire translational research spectrum, from mechanistic studies to population-based and health services research. The comprehensive program combines didactic learning and coursework with a mentored research experience.

Request a Letter of Support from the ICTR |

Do you have an upcoming grant and would like to request a Letter of Support from the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research? The ICTR has created a portal where investigators can now submit a request for a Letter of Support. When filling out the request form make sure to have available your:
- Research Funding Announcement (RFA) Number
- Submission Deadline
- Project Title
- Specific Aims (attachment)
- Listing of PI's & co-PI's
- Letter of Consideration Draft (if applicable)

Community Engagement Core Offers Services |
|
The ICTR's Community Engagement Core works to ensure community engagement occurs across the full spectrum of clinical and translational research. The Core provides consultative services and facilitates research in health disparities, health outcomes, behavioral interventions, community participatory research, and health services research. Services available through the Core include:

CIRTIfication: Community Involvement in Research Training |
|
CIRTIfication is a unique, self-paced online training program in human research protections is tailored to the unique roles of community research partners. This course, available in English and Spanish, provides an overview of research ethics and protections to enhance our community partners’ understanding of the research process to promote meaningful engagement.
Community partners, advocates, Community Health Workers, and others are encouraged to take advantage of this training at no charge. To get started, please email [email protected].
Note: If individuals qualify to be listed on the IRB for a particular study, they should complete CITI training to ensure the institutionally required human subject projections training is completed.

2023-2024 Montefiore Einstein Innovation Biodesign Training Program |
|
The Montefiore Einstein Innovation Leadership Team is excited to announce a call for applications for the Innovation Biodesign Training Program’s 2023-2024 cycle. This one-year program is a unique experience to train the next generation of physician innovators and encourages the development and validation of digital health technologies. This initiative is only the sixth Innovation Biodesign Training Program in the U.S. and the first to focus on chronic conditions and health disparities. Attending physicians and residents and fellows in the research training year(s) from all departments are encouraged to apply. Training will begin on July 1, 2023.
This program’s curriculum (3-4 hours required per week) includes: a Health Technology Innovation seminar series and small group sessions; a health technology innovation project; mentoring from Montefiore Einstein faculty and external experts; and an end-of-program pitch presentation. Third Annual XSeed Award Program 2022-2023 |
|
The call to submit proposals for the third XSeed Grant Award Program for the 2022-2023 cycle is now open. The grant is funded by Deerfield Management Company (a healthcare investment firm, NYC) and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). Einstein faculties have been winners of the award for both the first and second years of the program in a row.
Unlike previous years, this time there will be only two awards given for a higher prize amount of $250,000. Additionally, the program is not limited by any specific disease area or indication, instead the emphasis is on advancing novel ideas in the life sciences area. The program is open to all stages of development, early stage of development, with or without formation of a company. For more information click here.
The deadline for submission is January 16, 2023.
